My name is Mary Catherine and I reside in the great city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A north Louisiana native, I found my way down south in 2015 when I came to Louisiana State University (LSU). I graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting in 2018 and a Masters in Accounting in 2019 from LSU. Also in 2019 I completed the CPA exam and became certified in June 2020. But that wasn’t enough for me! In 2021, I passed the Louisiana Notary Public exam and was certified that November. I have worked in public, private, and governmental sectors. I have 5+ years of accounting experience and 3.5+ in direct employee management.

Tragically, my dad passed away abruptly the same month I became a notary in November 2021. My dad, also a CPA and notary, was my biggest mentor and cheerleader.

In June 2023, I was months away from my wedding and trying to decide how to keep my dad’s name in my life. I wanted to change my name to my husband’s, but I wasn’t ready to let my dad’s go. So, I decided that I would create a business, cultivated in his memory, using his name. Even though my last name is no longer Gillespie, Gillespie Business Services is my deepest honor to him.
